Secret Reef Cam Thanks to support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, you can take a virtual dive into the Tennessee Aquarium’s Secret Reef exhibit. This saltwater exhibit, home to thousands of colorful reef fish, big, toothy sharks and a rescued green sea turtle, is designed to model the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. Aquarium visitors have an opportunity to enjoy more than two dozen viewing windows, each with a different perspective of this habitat. While exploring the Secret Reef like SCUBA divers, guests gain a deeper appreciation for their connection to this amazing ecosystem.

Did You Know?

The Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary:

• Is located in the Gulf of Mexico, about 110 miles southeast of Galveston, Texas.
• Contains the northernmost tropical coral reefs in the United States.
• Has more than 50% live coral. More than any other reef in the Gulf of Mexico or Caribbean

No matter where you live, if you drive a car, heat or cool a home, use any kind of plastic or eat any of the following: seafood, corn, cereal, bread, beef, pork or chicken, you have a connection to the Gulf. As a result, you should be concerned about the economic and ecological health of the Gulf of Mexico. Begin by helping to improve the health of streams inland.

Lake Nickajack Exhibit in River Journey
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:00 am
Enjoy scuba divers feeding giant catfish, stupendous sturgeon and gnarly gar. (On the other days, wave and the divers will wave back while they help keep the fish’s home clean.)
